The winner of the Food online contest is Melodie Bechtel’s Breakfast of Champions, congratulations Melodie.
The entries for this week’s subject Still Life are shown below and voting/rating should be done by Sunday December 4th at 7pm, which is also the deadline to submit entries for the Rule of Thirds subject. One change to note regarding the online contests is that I will no longer be announcing subjects two weeks in advance, this simplifies managing the contests for me. If anyone has any comments about the online contests or suggestions for subjects please let me know.
There were some issues with the rating/voting software last week, so while the scores are now visible they are not correct. The issues should now be resolved. With the scores corrected this week’s winner if Ken Silagy’s Autumn Colors. This entry was true to the theme of Abstract and was well done.
The entries for the Food theme are shown below. Ratings for these images are due by Sunday November 27th at 7pm which is also the deadline for Still Life entries.
For the week following Still Life the theme will be Rule of Thirds with the goal being to take an image that follows the rule of thirds and in which following the rule enhances the image. As you can see we only had two entries for the Food contest, hopefully we will get more participants for next week’s Still Life theme.

The entries for the next subject of Abstract are shown below. Please rate the images by Sunday November 20th at 7pm.
The deadline for rating the Abstract entries is also the deadline for submitting the entries for the following subject of “Food”. And of course no update would be complete without giving the subject after next, which will be Still Life. If you are looking for some inspiration on the topic you might check out this site.

Due to facility issues the Berks Photographic Society Open House and the Senior High School Student Print Competition Exhibition will be held on November 19, 2011 from 1:00 until 2:00. Prizes for the competitions will be awarded at 2:00 in the auditorium.
